President Barzani received a high-level delegation from the General Command of the Coalition Forces in Iraq and Syria,  The delegation included General Matthew McFarlane, the former commander, and General Joel Vowell, the new commander of the coalition forces in Iraq and Syria.

General McFarlane visited President Barzani to bid farewell and introduce the new coalition forces commander. He expressed his satisfaction with the successful coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Kurdistan Region during the previous phases of the fight against terrorists. He emphasized that this cooperation would persist in the upcoming stages.

President Barzani expressed gratitude to General McFarlane for his contributions and extended a warm welcome to General Joel Vowell, the new commander of the coalition forces. He underscored the importance of partnership and coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the coalition.

Irvin Hicks, the US Consul General in Erbil, bid farewell to President Barzani after completing his responsibilities in the Kurdistan Region. He conveyed his contentment about having worked in the region.

The meeting also covered discussions on counter-terrorism and other security matters.
