President Masoud Barzani received French Ambassador to Iraq

On October 28, 2023, President Masoud Barzani received French Ambassador to Iraq, Eric Chevalier in Salahaddin.

Ambassador Chevalier conveyed greetings of President Macron to President Barzani. They exchanged views on the political situation, events in the region and the possibilities and dangers of future developments.

The relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Federal Government of Iraq were another topic of the meeting and the efforts to resolve the issues were appreciated. The French Ambassador to Iraq praised President Barzani's decision to donate the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) leadership council to Kirkuk University in order to calm the situation and called it a wise decision.
