President Barzani receives the new Consul General of the United Kingdom in Erbil.

On Sunday, 23 June 2024, President Masoud Barzani received Andrew Disley the new  Consul General of the United Kingdom in Erbil, in Salahaddin.

During the meeting, which was attended by Ms Rosie Cave, Deputy Ambassador of the UK to Iraq, President Barzani welcomed the guest delegation and wished success to the new Consul General in Erbil in his new assignment. He also pointed to the friendly and historical relations between the people of Kurdistan and the UK and hoped that the relations would continue and be further developed. 

For his part, the British Consul General in Erbil thanked President Barzani for his position and spoke about the relations between the people and government of the Kurdistan Region and the UK and expressed his readiness to continue and improve these relations.

The political situation in Iraq and the region and the threat of terrorism were also discussed
