Dara Barawy, representing the KDP, participated in the conference and held discussions with senior Conservative Party members regarding the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region and the wider Middle East. He expressed gratitude on behalf of the KDP leadership for the UK’s historic support in the Kurdistan Region, particularly its role in the international coalition against ISIS and its continued commitment to peace in the region.
One of the key focuses of the meetings was addressing the ongoing tensions and challenges in the Middle East and exploring the UK’s potential role in fostering peace and stability. The discussions centered on strengthening bilateral relations and finding common ground on issues of mutual interest.
Additionally, Dara Barawy took part in a gathering of Friends of Kurdistan within the Conservative Party, where he called for deeper cooperation to support the Kurdish cause. He emphasized the need for sustained support for the stability and protection of the region, with particular attention to the security and progress of the Kurdistan Region.
It is worth noting that the UK government led by the Conservative Party has played a pivotal role in supporting the Kurdish people, most notably through its involvement in the adoption of UN Resolution 688 in 1991, by imposing the No-fly Zone, which provided protection to the people of Kurdistan. Since then, the UK has remained a steadfast ally in safeguarding the achievements of the Kurdistan Region.
