Baghdad and Erbil to end disputes in joint-agreement

Prime Minister of Iraq Nuri al-Maliki vows an agreement with the President of the Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, will be stimulated between Baghdad and Erbil to end on-going disputes.

President Barzani stressed the importance of monitoring the internal row to face any possible external risk.

Mr Maliki said in a joint press conference with Mr Barzani in Baghdad, "The visit of Barzani came at a continuation of our visit to Kurdistan," noting that, "it was agreed to activate the joint committees to address all outstanding issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government on the back and the base of the higher interest and the Constitution.”

Maliki also said, "the circumstances that surround us the big challenges require us to find a vulnerable immune challenges the National Front assemble and solve problems with realism and a common desire to fortify the country including vulnerability experienced by the region."

He added "among the issues of Article 140 and the mechanics of application and provincial boundaries and law exists in the House of Representatives and a census in order to resolve this issue to end so as not to remain a problem of the issue of oil and the Peshmerga and the security forces and all the issues that a difference in views, including pass laws broken.”

For his part, Barzani said, "our visit to Baghdad aimed at sending a message to the outside and the inside that we are brothers and are eager to communication, cooperation and solidarity, especially since we live in an area filled with problems and crises," adding, "strengthen the internal front can prevent the risks."

Mr Barzani also said, “it was agreed to take practical steps through the activation of the committees that we have agreed on the composition and to achieve results that serve Iraq and Iraqis," adding, "the results of the work of the committees applied in the field and are not cosmetic issues."
