On the occasion of the successful process of the Iraqi Parliament elections and the success of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, I extend my congratulations and appreciation to the people of Kurdistan. I congratulate the people of Kurdistan on the success of the Iraqi Council of Representatives elections and the success of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in these elections. Congratulations to the cadres, members and supporters of the Party (KDP) who were able to ensure a great victory for the Party through a civil and peaceful manner and allow the spirit of the martyrs to rest in peace.
The success of the Kurdistan Democratic Party in this election means the success of the principles and values on which the struggle of the people of Kurdistan is based, and its victory and message to all parties confirming that the people of Kurdistan will not abandon their history and values in any circumstance.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party's victory should also motivate officials, party cadres and members to provide the best services to the people, and not to forget Barzani's valuable advice, which states, “in victory do not be arrogant and in failure do not be hopeless.”
On this occasion, I would also like to thank the High Electoral Commission, the security services, and all the concerned authorities in the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Republic of Iraq for their dedication and vigilance, which led to the success of the Iraqi Parliament elections. We also highly appreciate the role of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi in conducting the elections.
The success of the elections is a success for the people’s willingness and democracy. Therefore, I hope that the Kurdish parties will unite, work together, and complement each other for a common goal in the supreme interest of Kurdistan, defend the rights and achievements of the people of Kurdistan, and build relations between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Iraq on the basis of true partnership.
Once again, I thank the people of Kurdistan, especially the steadfast and loyal brothers and sisters in Kirkuk, the heart of Kurdistan.
Masoud Barzani
