Hawrami requests participation of UN and EU officials in Kurdistan elections

Hemin Hawrami, Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party Foreign Relations Office, in a meeting with consular and political officials from United Nations Envoys, United Kingdom, France and Russia, underlined a letter from President Massoud Barzani which states that he did not enact a law to create a ‘legal-vacuum’ in the region.

President Barzani said in a letter, “There are a number of non-ruling parties that should consult and take their views seriously,”

During the meeting, Mr Hawrami discussed the negative attitudes of the three opposition parties and their fear for the loss of public confidence.

On behalf of the KDP, Mr Hawrami asked officials at the meeting to participate in the legislative elections taking place in Kurdistan in September 2013 to send their observers to Kurdistan.
