President Masoud Barzani: Stronger Democracy and Partnership Key to Successful Political Process in Iraq.

President Masoud Barzani recieved Ulric Shannon Canadaian Ambassador to Iraq, Strengthening principles of democracy and partnership are key to help the political process in Iraq to succeed, President Masoud Barzani, President of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) said.

Barzani made the remarks during a meeting with Ulric Shannon, the Ambassador of Canada to Iraq, and his accompanying delegation.

The Kurdish leader emphasized that the rights of all different components of Iraq should be respected for a better country.

He also reviewed the latest political developments in Iraq and the wider region, the recent parliamentary elections, and the next phase in post elections Iraq.

The relations between the Kurdistan Region and Canada, and ways to further develop the cooperations in different areas of mutual interest were also discussed, according to the readout of the meeting.
