Turkish Consul-General expresses delight to work in Kurdistan

The Turkish Consul-General in Erbil expresses his delight in working in Kurdistan during a meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani discussing bilateral relations between the two regions, its people and the current situation in Iraq.

Mr Barzani congratulated Mr Mehmet Akif on the occasion his new post as Consul-General of Turkey in Kurdistan, wishing him success in his duties, while at the same time stressed the policy of the government of the Kurdistan region to develop diplomatic relations with the international community in general and with Turkey.

The two sides discussed during the meeting the importance of relations between Kurdistan and Turkey that has a positive impact on economic recovery, investment, and security and stability of the region. They also spoke about the level and volume of investment and trade between Kurdistan and Turkey.

Developments on the domestic political scene in Kurdistan and Iraq were another aspect of this meeting.
