The Italian Consul General congratulates the people of Kurdistan for the Parliament election and the Kurdistan Democratic Party for winning the majority of seats

On the behalf of Italy's government, Consul-General Carmelo Vikaro congratulated the Kurdistan Democratic Party on winning a majority of seats in Kurdistan Parliament.

This came during a visit to the KDP Foreign Relations Office were he was received by its chief Hemin Hawrami.

Mr Vikaro praised the democratic election process and the participation of Kurdish voters.

For his part, Mr Hawrami thanked Mr Vikaro and the Italian government, in addition expressed appreciation toward the international observers of recent elections in the region.

Mr Hawrami said the victory in the elections in a democratic atmosphere which prevailed is a win for the KDP and its president Massoud Barzani, a guarantor of free elections and democracy in Kurdistan.
