British Consul-General condemns terrorist attacks in Erbil

IN a meeting with Hemin Hawrami at the Foreign Relations Office, British Consul-General in Erbil Mr Hugh Evans strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks in the Kurdish capital.

The focus of the meeting, which was attended by a number of FRO members, were the legislative elections held in the region, where Mr Evans congratulated the Kurdistan Democratic Party on its success; winning a majority of seats.

The atmosphere of freedom and stability that prevailed in the elections will play an imperative part of display to the international community's support for the democratic campaigns in Kurdistan.

For his part Mr Hawrami thanked Mr Evans for his visit and stressed that terrorist acts will not intimidate the region and they will move forward with democracy, peaceful co-existence and fraternity and that recent elections affirmed.
