President Barzani meets UN Secretary-General Special Envoy

President of Kurdistan-Region Massoud Barzani met Mr Nikolay Mladenov, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and his delegation.

At the outset of the meeting, Mr Mladenov expressed his happiness to visit Kurdistan and at the meeting with President Barzani, he said: "I feel like I'm in my house."

He also hoped to work together to solve the problems of the Iraqi people, saying that Kurdistan has laid the infrastructure for development suitable to be a role model for Iraq, and the Iraqi election law called the law allows opportunity Mladenov equal participation of all Iraqi components.

After welcoming President Barzani, the delegation hoped the success of the Mr Mladenov, referring to the Iraqi National Assembly elections Act, stressing that the Kurds participation in the elections of 2010 were high but the Kurdistan region has been subjected to injustice and unfairness in the seats said:

"The electoral divider must be for all the provinces and could not pay the people of Kurdistan to tax the poor participation in the Iraqi elections, if Morse injustice and unfairness in the number of seats for the Kurdistan as previous times it is right not to participate in the elections.”

President Barzani briefed the Mr Mladenov that the political parties had formed a special panel Kurdistani on details of Iraq's election law, the Kurdistan region gives great importance to the political process in Iraq to observe the principles of democracy and justice.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the political situation in the region, the Kurdish National Congress, President Barzani, a detailed explanation of the content of the message that it is hoped that the Conference, declaring that the essence of the message of the Kurdish National Congress lies in unification of the Kurdish region's discourse on the foundations of dialogue, peace and democratic solution.
