Masrour Barzani and Consul-General of Turkey in Kurdistan discuss political situation

Director of Intelligence and Security of the Kurdistan-region  Masrour Barzani met with Turkish Consul-General in Kurdistan Mohammed Akif in Erbil to discuss the current political situation.

Also at this meeting was Deputy Consul-General Mustafa Tookar, where they talked of bilateral relations between the two sides.

Mr Akif congratulated Mr Barzani on the  success  the  recent legislative elections and condemned recent acts of terrorism in Erbil, citing that it could not destabilise the region and asserted Turkey’s support for the region.

Mr Barzani emphasised the importance of relations and cooperation between Kurdistan and Turkey in countering terrorism. Their meeting also focused in the current crisis in Syria, stressing on finding a peaceful solution to ending the ongoing conflict.
