Ambassador Kubiak congratulated President Barzani on the success of the Kurdistan Parliamentary elections and the victory of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) as the first winner. He also appreciated the role of President Barzani and the institutions of the Kurdistan Region in building stability and prosperity in the Region. The Ambassador also said that his country attaches great importance to the role of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq and the region, adding that Poland wants to develop relations and friendship with the Kurdistan Region in the fields of education, higher education, agriculture and other fields.
President Barzani thanked the Polish Ambassador to Iraq and stressed the friendship and relations between Poland and the Kurdistan Region. Referring to the Kurdistan parliamentary elections, President Barzani said that the participation of the Kurdish people in the elections in a peaceful atmosphere made us proud. He said that as the elections were successfully held, the phase of forming a government and negotiations between the parties will be successfully completed and said they want the formation of a broad-based government according to the results of the election.
The meeting also discussed the recent visit of the Federal Prime Minister to the Kurdistan Region and efforts to maintain stability in Iraq and keep Iraq away from future threats and regional equations.
