The Kurdistan Democratic Party leadership council held a meeting under the auspices of President Massoud Barzani and in presence of political bureau members.
They discussed the recent legislative elections where the KDP won a majority of Parliamentary seats and expressed their thanks to their foundation for campaigning and for their contribution to the success of the elections.
During the meeting, they discussed the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government; Nechirvan Barzani was nominated for the post of prime minister as well as leading the Committee for dialogue with other parties to form a cabinet.
The Iraqi election law, which was ratified by the Iraqi Parliament, was another focus of the meeting as well as the latest developments of the Syrian position and supporting the Kurds in Syria were discussed during the meeting
