President Barzani receives Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Iraq and Jordan

President Masoud Barzani received, today, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in Salahaddin Ambassador Serge Dickschen, the Belgian Ambassador to Iraq and Jordan.

During the meeting, the Belgian Ambassador praised President Barzani's role in the struggle of the People of Kurdistan and in achieving stability in the Region and Iraq. He also expressed his congratulations to President Barzani on the occasion of the success of the Kurdistan Parliament elections held last October, describing the broad participation of the people of Kurdistan in the elections as an effective and influential step to strengthen the pillars of legitimacy.

The Belgian Ambassador stressed the special interest his country and the European Union attaches to the stability of the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, views and opinions were exchanged on the latest developments and changes in the region, threats and risks associated with terrorism, and the need to maintain the security and stability of the region.
