President Barzani receives Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received, today, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in Salahaddin, Ambassador Elbrus Kutrashev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Iraq.

During the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Maxim Rubin, the Russian Consul General in Erbil, the Russian Ambassador extended his congratulations to President Barzani on the success of the Kurdistan Parliament elections, noting that the successful conduct of the electoral process in a calm atmosphere and with broad popular participation is a great achievement for the Kurdistan Region.

In another part of the meeting, the steps related to the political process in the Region and the formation of the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government were discussed.

The relations between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi federal government, in addition to the developments and changes in the region and the risks of the return of terrorism were other topics of the meeting.
