In a meeting that held talks on bilateral relations between Kurdistan and Italy, Hemin Hawrami highlighted latest developments in the region and Erbil’s relations with the central government in Baghdad, with Italy’s Consul-General Mr Carmelo Vicar.
The head of Kurdistan Democratic Party’s foreign relations office stressed the importance of relations between the two sides, and accentuated President Massoud Barzani’s latest European trip a success.
In another meeting with the head of United Nations Assistance Office for Iraq (UNAMI) in Erbil, Mr Sokol Conde, Mr Hawrami referred to the current political aspect in the Kurdistan-Region in addition to mentioning the forthcoming legislative elections in Iraq, the ongoing crisis in Syria and the Geneva Conference.
The formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government, after elections last September, is subject to continuing negotiations between the political parties.
On the region’s oil exportations, Mr Hawrami said it is in accordance with the Iraqi constitution.
