KDP foreign office delegation visit Mexico City

A Kurdistan Democratic Party delegation from the foreign relations office arrived in Mexico on a three-day visit at the formal request of ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party.

The fundamental principle of the delegation's trip to Mexico City was to bolster ties between Kurdistan and Mexico.

Dara Barawy and Mohammed Tahir Zebari, two of the KDP's delegates visiting the region initially held talks on strengthening bilateral relations with Morelos state Governor Graco Ramirez who expressed his delight and requested the delegates to form arrangements.

On the sidelines of a human rights convention in Morelos, the delegation met with Minister of Tourism, Jamie Alvarez, and thanked him for his cooperation in the hosting of a Kurdish-Mexican festival last October.

In another aspect of the delegates' trip, they briefly met César Camacho Quiroz, president of the ruling IRP and Javier Vega, secretary of international affairs, to highlight the benefits of friendship with Kurdistan and a possibility of inaugurating a Mexican representation in the region.

Collections of artefacts exhibiting Halabja historical interests were primarily approved at Mexico City’s Memory and Tolerance Museum, after objects were presented at a meeting with management and were implicit at possibilities of a permanent display.

Conclusively, among the proposals engaged between the two regions, the KDP delegation invited leaders of the ruling IRP to participate in future political events in Kurdistan who promised exchanges of visit.
