The necessity of holding early elections in Iraq came as a result of the demonstrations and protests that took place in the Iraqi provinces and the urgent demands of the masses and political parties.
For the purpose of addressing these crises afflicting Iraq and finding appropriate solutions to the demands of Iraqi citizens in general, it was considered that resorting to early elections to form a new federal government is one of the best solutions to get out of the crisis. On this basis, the necessary decision was taken.
But some parties, as a result of the exacerbation of crises, and the analysis of some well-known parties of how crises and problems arise and after some considerations of their own, have announced their non-participation in the elections. As for the Kurdistan Democratic Party, we believe that holding elections with the participation of all political parties is a good step towards resolving existing problems and crises and achieving the demands of the Iraqi people, as well as to help the political process and save it from the stagnation it suffers from now.
Therefore, we in the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and in the interest of all Iraqi citizens, we demand the brothers in the Sadrist movement and the other twenty-six (26) parties who announced their non-participation in the Iraqi elections to serve the political process in Iraq and to provide a successful model for governance in Iraq.
