President Masoud Barzani received Air Marshal Sammy Sampson, Senior Adviser to the British Ministry of Defense for the Middle East and North Africa, and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting was attended by the British Consul in Erbil, David Hunt. The political and security situation in Iraq and the region and the threat of terrorism, highlighting the recent political developments in Iraq, especially the period following the Iraqi Parliament elections were discussed. 

During the meeting, the visiting delegation affirmed that Britain will remain the friendly and close allay to the Kurdistan Regional Government in particular and to Iraq in general. It will remain the strong supporter of the Peshmerga forces in their war on terrorism and the role of protecting its citizens.
