Hawrami: “Iraqi government's lack of commitment to the Constitution has exacerbated the political situation and security and service in Iraq”

Hemin Hawrami received Mark Brasin from the British Embassy in Iraq and Hugh Evans, the British Consul to Erbil in a meeting to discuss the conditions in Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s viewpoint on forming the next regional government.

Mr. Hawrami, the head of KDP’s Foreign Relations Office, gave emphasis to the latest political developments in Iraq and relations with the Kurdistan Region, citing that the Iraqi government is lacking commitment to the Constitution.

Mr. Hawrami concluded the meeting stating the upcoming legislative elections, scheduled for the end of April, will change the political climate in Iraq and stressed for Britain’s support, typically to solve outstanding issues of oil, gas and budget resources.

The British delegation stated expressed their optimism for resolving all problems through dialogue and in accordance with the Iraqi Constitution
