Hawrami: Kurdistan is Democratic model of peaceful coexistence and brotherhood between national and religious components

The Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Foreign Relations Office, Hemin Hawrami, received Ernesto Baraam, the strategic policy advisor of Middle East and North Africa from the Netherland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, which was attended by members of the KDP’s Foreign Relations Office, Mr. Hawrami heralded to the current political situation in the Kurdistan Region and the ongoing stalemate between the KRG and the central government in Baghdad, proposing both sides need to adhere to Article 140 of the constitution to resolve tensions amid the two sides specifically relating to the oil and gas laws and the budget for civil servants.

The upcoming parliamentary election in Iraq was also conversed; on the impact results could have on altering the political map of Iraq.

The crisis in Syria and its refugees in Kurdistan were among other topics discussed at the meeting, where Mr. Baraam expressed his praise for the security and stability in the region and thanked the KDP FRO for the warm welcome.
