President Barzani receives the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces

President Masoud Barzani received Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Mazlum Abdi in Salahaddin on Thursday evening, January 16, 2025.

The meeting discussed the situation in Syria, the latest security and political developments in Syria, as well as the general framework of dealing with the new situation in Syria and how to take a common position of the Kurdish parties in Syria.

In this meeting,

it was emphasized that the Kurdish parties in Syria should decide their future without any interference and through peaceful means and in order to guarantee their rights in unity and solidarity in their dealings with the new Syrian rulers to reach an understanding and agreement, and be a factor of peace and stability to avoid the misery that has befallen the Kurdish people and other communities in Syria.
