Hemin Hawrami, head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office, received Mr Mihaita Ena, an official from the Romanian Consular Office in Erbil to discuss the political climate in the region and it's developing bilateral relations with Romania.
Mr Hawrami briefed Mr Ena on the current political situation in Kurdistan and Iraq after nationwide legislative and provincial elections were held, on the regional government formation process by prime minister Nechirvan Barzani, scheduled for 20 June, and on relations with the federal government in Baghdad.
Relations between Erbil and Baghdad were conversed at the end of the meeting which was attended by a number of members of the Foreign Relations Office, where Mr Hawrami said that the Kurds will not accept a repetition of the mistakes of the past with the Iraqi government, stressing the Kurdish insistence on the implementation of all articles of the Constitution and its agreements that have been concluded with the central government.
The two sides also discussed the crisis in neighbouring Syria and now Kurdistan is a safe-haven for over 250,000 refugees.
