Hawrami and head of UNAMI office in Erbil exchange views on political situation in Kurdistan

The Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office, Hemin Hawrami received Sokol Conde, head of United Nations Assistance Office for Iraq (UNAMI) in Erbil to exchange views in the current state of affairs in the region.

Mr Hawrami highlighted the changes that administered following Kurdistan provincial and Iraqi legislative elections, denoting the KDP's position for the formation of the regional government scheduled for 20 June.

On the participation of the Iraqi government, Mr Hawrami stressed that the Kurds will not accept the mistakes committed by the Iraqi government in the previous decades. He emphasised the Kurdish bloc that will discuss with other Iraqi parties to form the federal government through a committee formed to unite parties by the Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani.

Mr Hawrami reiterated that the Kurds agree unanimously to this issue, and called on the Iraqi government to solve the outstanding complications in accordance with constitutional provisions including Article 140, the enactment of oil and gas and the salaries of civil servants and Peshmerga forces.
