German foreign minister praises Peshmerga in telephone call with President Barzani

President of Kurdistan Region Massoud Barzani received a telephone call on Monday evening from German foreign minister ,Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to express his praise for the leadership and their efforts in combating terrorism.

Mr Steinmeier emphasised his country's support for the people of Kurdistan, declared that Germany is ready to stand by the people of Kurdistan in its fight against terrorism. Mr Barzani told reporters that the German government is currently looking at ways how to provide aid to the KRG.

Mr Barzani expressed his appreciation to Mr Steinmeier for their assistance in seeking to help Kurdistan at this difficult time; that the people will defend their territory to assure victory in the war against terrorists.
