A delegation from the Kurdish National Council in Syria (ENKS) visited the Foreign Relations Office of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP).

Hoshyar Siwaily, Head of the KDP’s Foreign Relations Office, welcomed Jadan Ali, a member of the Central Committee and head of the ENKS representation, along with the accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, discussions covered the latest developments in the region, the complex dynamics at play, and the overall situation in Syria, with a particular focus on the conditions in Syrian Kurdistan (Rojava). The importance of Kurdish unity and cohesion was strongly emphasized as a crucial factor in ensuring that the Kurdish people can seize the current opportunities presented by the evolving international and regional landscape. Given the shifting geopolitical environment, it was highlighted that the Kurdish leadership must act strategically to maximize gains from these circumstances.

President Barzani’s steadfast position and the KDP’s policy were reiterated, stressing the necessity of maintaining a unified stance and collective action to secure the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people in Syria. The recent meeting between President Barzani and Mazloum Abdi was highlighted as a clear reaffirmation of this commitment, underscoring the ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the Kurdish people of the region and Kurdistan as a whole, ensuring stability and security.

The discussion also touched upon the significance of the peace process in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan, as well as the broader developments in Syria and Rojava. The evolving political landscape presents a crucial opportunity to achieve long-term stability and resolve longstanding issues. Both sides agreed that the phase of armed confrontation for securing Kurdish rights has passed and that the current stage requires intensified political and diplomatic efforts to achieve the aspirations of the Kurdish people.

Hoshyar Siwaily reaffirmed the KDP’s commitment to supporting and coordinating efforts in service of the Kurdish people in Rojava, emphasizing the party’s dedication to unity and mutual cooperation. The visiting delegation expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and support provided by President Barzani and the KDP, recognizing their crucial role in advocating for the Kurdish cause in Syria and beyond.
