President Barzani Receives the Deputy U.S. Ambassador to Iraq

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Salahaddin, President Masoud Barzani welcomed Mr. Daniel Rubinstein, Deputy U.S. Ambassador to Iraq.

During the meeting, they discussed the political and security situation in Iraq and Syria, as well as recent developments and transformations in the region. Additionally, they reviewed the outcomes of the visit of the İmralı delegation to the Kurdistan Region and the meeting between President Barzani and General Mazloum Abdi.

Another key focus of the discussion was the relationship between the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the Federal Government of Iraq. President Barzani expressed deep concern over the unjust actions and harassment of Kurdish farmers in Kirkuk province, emphasizing that such behaviors are reminiscent of a chauvinistic mindset and evoke painful memories of past genocidal policies against the Kurdish people.
