President Massoud Barzani received former Iraqi Prime Minister, Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the political situation in Iraq, the upcoming elections, and the challenges facing the political process in Iraq and the Region.

At the same meeting, attended by Fazil Mirani, General Secretary of the Kurdistan Democratic Party Political Bureau and Hoshyar Zebari, Member of the Political Bureau, exchanged views on the developments and reforms at the regional level.

The current situation in Iraq and the region was a main focus of the meeting in which both sides emphasized the necessity of cooperation between the Iraqi Federal Government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, along side all institutions and political parties to overcome the challenges and to bring the country out of crisis and bring peace and prosperity to the deserved people of the country.
