Masrour Barzani: “War against ISIS is an international battle and everyone must play their part.”

The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) on Monday discussed during a meeting with the Ambassador of Canada in Iraq and Jordan, Bruno Sakomani, the latest developments in the fighting fronts, and the victories achieved by Peshmerga against ‘Islamic State’ terrorists and stressed that the war against ISIS is an international war that all countries play a part.

Mr Barzani said there is a need to arm Peshmerga with heavy weapons and bomb jammers, as he referred to the courage of Kurdish forces, stating "Peshmerga is the only force on earth fighting against ISIS,”

In another part of the meeting, Mr Barzani said, "this war that we are waging is an international war, and everyone has to play a role where, without a modern and heavy weapons, we cannot defeat the enemy, because IS still owns an offensive force in Syria and Iraq, and the war continues."

Ambassador Sakomani expressed his thanks to the region's security advisor a chance meeting, and stressed that his country was committed to cooperating with the Kurdistan region within the framework of the international alliance and is committed to cooperation with the Kurds against terrorists, referring to the memorandum of understanding signed by Canada and the Ministry of Peshmerga in Kurdistan.

Sakomani said that Canada will have a strong participation in the war against terrorism, stressing the Parliament of Canada passed the aviation participation in eliminating ISIS.
