President Barzani Receives Ambassador of France to Iraq

President Masoud Barzani received the French Ambassador to Iraq, Ambassador Patrick Durel, in Salahaddin on Monday, March 17, 2025.

During the meeting, which was attended by the French Consul General in Erbil, Mr. Yann Bream, the general situation in Iraq, the latest political and security developments in the region, the peace process in Turkey, and the visit of Mr. Mazloum Abdi and a delegation from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) to President Barzani were discussed. President Barzani reiterated his support for a peaceful resolution process in Turkey.

Also, the meeting touched on the steps to form the tenth cabinet in the Kurdistan Region, the upcoming elections for the Iraqi Council of Representatives, and the political process in Iraq.

Strengthening of historical relations and friendship between the Kurdistan and French peoples was also emphasized.
