A statement from the Political Buearu of the Kurdistan Democratic Party

The early election process of the Iraqi House of Representatives, held on October 10, 2021, was conducted purely and democratically until the intervention of the President of the Republic of Iraq and the head of the judiciary were illegally extended in order to manipulate the results in the interest of some parties. 

 

After our Party's legal and technical committee met with the Independent High Electoral Commission and the Judiciary Committee, it became clear that all our evidence proved such violations occurred, so we in the Kurdistan Democratic Party reject these interferences, changes and violations. We defend the rights of candidates and voters, and we think it is necessary to restore their confiscated rights for the sake of justice and voters rights. We will continue our efforts through legal action 

and announce our future steps in time.
