Danish Parliamentary delegation stress need for military and humanitarian support for Kurdistan

Hemin Hawrami received a parliamentary delegation consisting of Nikolaj Villumsen Member of Parliament – The Red-Green Alliance, official spokesman, Eva Flyvholm, Political advisor, Søren Søndergaard former member of the European Parliament, and candidate for parliament, Maj Aslett-Rydbjerg, Coordinator of the Kurdish solidarity work, and advisor for GUE/NGL in the European Parliament, Allan Ahmad Representative in the City Council of Copenhagen - The Red-Green Alliance, at a meeting to discuss political developments in the Kurdistan region.

Mr Hawrami, head of Kurdistan Democratic Party’s foreign relations office highlighted the significance of humanitarian support received from EU countries after civilians in northern Iraq were displaced as a result of recent conflict with terrorist militants belonging to ‘Islamic State’. Mr Hawrami expressed thanks toward the Danish government on behalf of the KDP for providing military assistance to Kurdish Peshmerga, adding that terrorism will be defeated and eradicated with the support of allies.

Mr Flomsin praised the courage of Peshmerga forces for combatting against ‘Islamic State’ militia and cleansing the areas previously controlled by them and assisting the Iraqi army before concluding the meeting with emphasizing the need to support and intensify the cooperation and support of the military and humanitarian aspects of the Kurdistan region.
