A statement from President Masoud Barzani.

In the name of God Almighty 

 

Unfortunately, a number of civilians and Peshmerga forces were martyred and wounded in last night's brutal attack by ISIS terrorists in Sargaran and Qarachogh areas. I express my condolences to the honorable families of the martyrs of this terrorist act and share in their grief. I ask the Almighty to rest the souls of our martyrs in peace and bring comfort to their families. And I wish for a quick recovery for the wounded.

 

I express my condolences to the heroic woman who appeared on television. She lost three sons in last nights terrorist attack and still insisted that she is ready to lose more to defend Kurdistan. I pray that God gives her and the father of the lost ones patience. The words of this woman is a source of courage and persistence for all of us, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart.

 

I also declare that in order to protect our homeland, I ask the government to carefully review the areas. The vulnerability of the areas should be taken into account and request to send Peshmerga forces with cooperation with the Iraqi Federal Forces. All necessary measures should be taken against any kind of negligence. The blood of our martyrs must be avenged against the enemy as soon as possible.

 

We salute the pure souls of the martyrs in the fight against ISIS and all the martyrs of the Kurdistan for the path to freedom.
