Hawrami receives US Consulate delegation in Erbil

Hemin Hawrami received a delegation from the United States Consulate office in Erbil, consisting of Willihart Smith, political and economics officer and David Cowdil, member of office, for talks on recent political developments in the Kurdistan region and focused on the role of US-led coalition against Islamic State.

The head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's foreign relations office praised the military support the US has provided for Peshmerga forces who  are actively battling against ISIS, effectively regaining control of lost ground following the collapse of the Iraqi army.

The US delegation expressed their admiration on the region successfully recapturing towns previously in ISIS control and said they appreciate President Massoud Barzani's role in leading Peshmerga.
