The Chancellor of the Kurdistan Region Security Council (KRSC) received the foreign and defence ministers of Germany in a meeting to discuss strategic and diplomatic affairs.

Masrour Barzani welcomed the delegation headed by General Stahil and expresses his thanks for Germany's support for their humanitarian aid and military assistance for Kurdish Peshmerga.

On relations between the region and Iraq, Mr Barzani said Baghdad did not oblige by its obligations to Peshmerga forces and instead violated their rights to foreign aid.

The German delegation expressed their admiration for the resilience and sacrifices made by Peshmerga and their prowess in the battle against ISIS militants, achieving victorious results. They also assured that the international community will continue supporting Kurdistan.

At the end of the meeting, the delegation stressed Germany will continue to provide assistance and training for Peshmerga to eradicate extremists.
