Hawrami receives newly-appointed German consul general to Kurdistan

The Head of Kurdistan Democratic Party's foreign relations office Hemin Hawrami received the newly-appointed consul-general of Germany to Kurdistan, George Enolear, in a meeting to discuss the political and military developments in the region.

Mr Hawrami began talks by initially congratulating Mr Enolear on his new role and wished him success with his duties before moving on to discuss the military assistance and humanitarian aid the Kurdish Peshmerga forces and internally displaced people have received across northern Iraq, thanking the German government for their support.

On the outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, Mr Hawrami said issues must be resolved in accordance with the constitution and adherence to agreements forced by parties in Kurdistan and Iraq.

For his part, Mr Enolear thanked the KDP for the meeting and reception, also hailing the courageous and heroic victories by Peshmerga forces, highlighting president Massoud Barzani's role in their campaign offensive against militants, stressing Germany will continue to support Kurdistan and the KDP.
