Hemin Hawrami, head of Kurdistan Democratic Party’s foreign relations office received Sudan’s ambassador to Iraq, Omar Musa and his embassy advisor, Adam Osman Mohammed, at a meeting to discuss relations between the two sides and developments in the region.
The meeting was attended by several FRO office members and Iraqi Parliamentarian, Rinas Jano, where Mr Hawrami welcomed Mr Musa and highlighted bilateral relations between Kurdistan and Sudan and the vitality of fraternal friendship, stressing the importance of establishing a Sudanese consulate in the region, stating consular services and regional support are key factors of enriching relations.
The Sudanese Ambassador, for his part, thanked the KDP’s FRO for their warm reception, also emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations between Kurdistan and the Sudan.
Mr Musa commended the role of Kurdish Peshmerga confronting terrorism on the front-lines, and announced Sudan’s support in their plight.
He conveyed the fraternal greetings of Sudan President Omar Hassan al-Bashir to President Massoud Barzani.
Both sides concluded the meeting by discussing various issues of mutual interest and the latest developments in the region.
