Massoud Barzani holds meeting with commander of US Central Command General Austin

The President of Kurdistan-Region Massoud Barzani held a meeting with the commander of United States Central Command, General Lloyd Austin, to discuss the military campaign currently underway against the ISIS terrorists, as well as the United States' military support for the Peshmerga forces.

President Barzani thanked the US and coalition allies for their military and humanitarian aid to the Kurdistan Regional Government. He added that thanks to such support, Peshmerga forces have now taken the offensive against the militants.

General Austin recognised the role of the Peshmerga forces in the fight against the ISIS terrorists and reiterated sustained American support for the Peshmerga.

The two sides agreed that ISIS is a threat to Kurdistan and the entire world, adding that confronting the terrorists requires international effort and collaboration.
