At the official invitation of the ruling Christian Democratic Union Party in Germany, a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party's Foreign Relations Office participated a party conference held in Cologne.
The delegation consisting of Shilan Doski and Hossam Khoshkani held brief talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, thanking the government and people of Germany for supporting the Kurdistan Region during difficult times, commending them for providing aid relief for hundreds of thousands of refugees and internally displaced people as a result of conflict against Islamic State terrorists.
On the sidelines of the conference, the Ms Doski and Mr Khoshkani exchanged thoughts on the recent developments in the Kurdistan Region with the deputy-head of the CUP, Andres Shokinhov, who paid tribute to the people of Kurdistan and the KRG who have been able to achieve such gains both in terms of reconstruction and stability in a volatile neighbourhood.
The KDP delegation stated Kurdistan views its relationship with Germany with great importance and looks forward to further developing and strengthening the political and economic ties between the two sides.
