Netherlands continue humanitarian and military support to Kurdistan

Hemin Hawrami, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Foreign Relations Office, received the new official for the Netherlands Embassy in Erbil, John van der Zande. During the meeting, which also had members of the FRO in presence, Hawrami welcomed Zande, and congratulated him for his new role in the Kurdistan Region, and expressed his support towards the Dutch official. Hawrami stated that the recent victories around the town of Shingal inflicted heavy losses on ISIS terrorists, adding that it is the sole aim of President Barzani to rid the terrorists from Iraq, and that the Peshmerga are fighting terrorism on behalf of the world. Hawrami also thanked the government of Netherlands for their continued support.

Zande thanked Hawrami for the warm hospitality, and stressed his government will continue to support Kurdistan fighting against terrorism. Both sides discussed the latest political and military developments in Iraq and Syria.
