Accompanied by members of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's foreign relations office, Hemin Hawrami visited the offices of France's Consul General in Erbil to show solidarity and pay condolences on behalf of the KDP for the victims of recent terrorist attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, police officers, and a supermarket, claiming the lives of a number of journalists and innocent citizens last week in Paris.
Mr Hawrami, head of KDP's FRO, condemned the terrorist incidents, stating "we must never allow the values that we hold dear, of democracy, of freedom of speech to be damaged by these terrorists," noted that together with France "we will eliminate this common enemy." This comes after around a million people are marching through Paris in a show of defiance and unity in the wake of three days of terror in the French capital.
The French Consul General in return expressed his own condolences to the families of martyrs who gave their lives defending Kurdistan in their own plight against militants.
