Hemin Hawrami met with the Head of External Relations of the French Socialist Party, Jan Marc, for talks relating to the current situation in the Kurdistan Region and on the recent victories of Peshmerga forces in the battle against terrorism.
The meeting was attended by members of the foreign relations office where Mr Hawrami thanked Mr Marc for visiting the region and expressed gratitude on behalf of the KDP for the French government’s support toward the Kurdish people.
Mr Hawrami condemned recent terrorist attacks in Paris and offered his condolences, where seventeen victims and the three attackers died in three days of violence in Paris last week that began with an assault on the offices of satirical weekly magazine Charlie Hebdo.
On his part, Mr Marc thanked the foreign relations office for their warm reception and hailed the victories gained by Peshmerga. He noted that his trip to Kurdistan has been long coming and had chosen this time to renew his government’s support for Kurdish forces who have valiantly fought against their enemies, while extending an invitation for the office to attend the annual Socialist conference to be held in later in June.
