President Barzani received the French ambassador to Iraq

On Monday, December 6, 2021, President Masoud Barzani welcomed French Ambassador to Iraq, Éric Chevalier.

At the beginning of the meeting, the French Ambassador conveyed his condolences and sympathy to the families of the recent fallen Peshmerga to President Barzani, saying that ISIS recent movements were evidence that the threat remains.

In the same meeting, in connection with ISIS threats and movements, both sides emphasized the cooperation and coordination between the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces, the Iraqi forces and allied forces is needed.

Also, the political situation in Iraq was discussed after October's parliamentary elections, and opinions were exchanged on solutions to overcome challenges and forming a new Iraqi government.

The historical relationship and friendship between the people of Kurdistan and the French people were emphasized.
