French President Francois Hollande welcomed Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani upon his arrival for a meeting at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Tuesday for talks on bilateral relations and France's contribution to the ongoing war against Islamic State militants.
The meeting followed participation from both leaders at the 3-day security conference held in Munich last week where high-ranking international delegates discussed global issues including the wars in Iraq and Syria.
The French president praised the resistance of the Kurds against IS, and discussed ways in which France could provide more assistance.
