Kurdistan Region President Massoud Barzani on Thursday 11th march received Turkey’s Deputy Minister Foreign Feridun Sinirlioglu and his accompanying delegation to discuss the political developments and security situation.
During the meeting, they talked about the relationship between the Ministry of Peshmerga and Turkish Ministry of Defence and spoke about the ways in which Turkey can aid Peshmerga forces in the future.
Both sides addressed in the ongoing peace process in Turkey and for his part, Mr Barzani said Kurdistan Region supports the peace process in Turkey and is ready to provide support and assistance for the success of the operation in all its stages.
The political and economic relations between Turkey and Kurdistan region and ways to expand the scope of cooperation and coordination between the two sides in order to restore security and stability in the region and confront terrorists was another aspect of the meeting.
On his part, Mr Sinirlioglu said that the security and stability of the region of Kurdistan is of great interest to his country and Turkey is operating toward security and stability in the region.
