Tributes were paid to the late revolutionary Kurdish leader and founder of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mulla Mustafa Barzani, at his burial site in Barzan, on the 112th anniversary of his birth.
Among those paying their respects, was a delegation from the KDP’s Foreign Relations Office and the US Consul General to Kurdistan, Joeseph Pennington, who at the shrine said, “Mustafa Barzani was a commander of a large Kurdish front who fought for freedom and stability in the Kurdistan Region,”
Mr Pennington, speaking of high-praise of the region, said, “if Mulla Mustafa was alive today he would have been extremely proud of what has progressed to achieve.”
