Hemin Hawrami said at a meeting with the Head of United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Mr Sokol Kondi, that the Kurdistan Region will not be a part of any sectarian conflict that arises from regional clashes in Iraq.
Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Head of Foreign Relations Office exchanged views with Mr Kondi on the political situation on relations between Erbil and Baghdad, and military developments where Kurdish Peshmerga forces are battling with Islamic State militants, scoring a number of victories and recapturing lost ground.
Mr Hawrami thanked the UN for assisting Iraq in the adversity it faced, and told Mr Kondi that the Kurds will always tolerate living in a peaceful coexistence in a democratic society, eliminating any part of sectarian conflicts.
For his part, Mr Kondi praised the role of the political leadership and stressed on the support of the Kurdish people and Kurdistan region in line with international laws
