During a meeting with a delegation of Turkish academics led by Masoud Ozjan , Professor Muhammad Shahen and assistant Professor Shban Cardash, Hemin Hawrami expressed the positions of the Kurdistan Democratic Party that its leadership supports the peace process in Turkey and pointed to the importance of Turkey's role to the Kurdistan Region.
The Head of KDP's Foreign Relations Office confirmed to the delegation that Kurds will not play any part of sectarian or regional conflicts but they will continue to be persistent on achieving the goals they have long made sacrifices.
He also stated that the key solution to achieve peace is if the state and Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) ensures stability to their citizens, and President Massoud Barzani's vital role must be entrusted.
Mr Hawrami explained that the KDP will strengthen the basis for the settlement process and will make a positive contribution to stability and if protection of human rights prevails in Turkey.
The visit of the Turkish delegation to Kurdistan was to exchange views with KDP officials and other parties on the peace process and other aspects of political developments.
